A modern toilet for women, children, and people with physical disabilities has been inaugurated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital premise. Additional secretary from ministry of health and family welfare Md Saidur Rahman inaugurated the facility.
The main objective of this project is to provide clean and efficient toilet facility for women and children. The well-designed and managed facility by Bhumijo will improve environment and reduce health risks.

This toilet has been developed by refurbishing a shipping container. With the funding from Dhaka Rotary Club of Rose Vale and Acumen Academy, Bhumijo Limited has built the facility. This toilet has two chambers and two wash basin for female users. It also has a separate chamber for people with disability.
Smart automatic entry system has been installed. The toilet can be used with Bhumijo smart card. Customer can avail the card from the toilet attendant to use it. User fee is five taka per use and its free for children under 10.
The facility will be open each day from Saturday to Thursday and will be closed on Friday. The operation time of the facility is from 6 am to 3 pm. Currently Bhumijo is operating 13 facilities and serving 3,500 people every day.
At the inauguration, Md Saidur Rahman said, “This is a wonderful initiative. This model can be replicated at other hospitals and public places.” Farhana Rashid, founder and CEO of Bhumijo, also spoke at the event, “We are working to solve public toilet crisis especially for women. With the support from others, this initiative can be scaled up at different places.” Ex-president of Rotary club of Dhaka Rose Vale Shahida Alam said, “We are happy to help the female patients and their attendants who will use this hygienic facility.”
Md. Nazmul Haque, Director, Dhaka Medical College; Md. Rubaet Hossain, the District Governor, Dhaka Rotary Club, District; Shahida Alam, ex-president of Rose Vale; and Farhana Rashid, CEO of the Bhumijo Limited; Md Masudul Islam, Chief operation officer of Bhumijo, were also present at the ceremony.
